"Fall From Bed Fatal to Mrs. Sarah Estes, 81".

A fracture of the pelvic bone , she suffered while attempting to arise from her bed a week ago proved fatal Sunday to Mrs. Sarah Estes, 81-year-old Miami pioneer woman. She died at 9:15 a.m. at Miami Baptist hospital.

Mrs. Estes was a resident of Miami and immediate vicinity for 51 years. She was a member of the First Baptist church and was affiliated with Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine.

Mrs. Estes was the widow of the late Andrew Jackson Estes. She is survived by one son, Henry Estes, of Miami; two daughters, Mrs. O. C. Wade of Miami and Mrs. Margaret Harrison of Lawrence, Kas.: one sister, Mrs. Mary Tucker of Kansas City, Kas; one brother, Charles Shackleford of Long Beach, Cal; 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist church. The Rev. T. W. Medearis will officiate. Pallbearers will be John H. Venable, S.c.Fullerton, Dr. A.M. Cooter, Sam Long, George Potter and Willis McNaughton; Burial will be in Peery Cemetery, east of Miami, under direction of the Lane funeral home.
