LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. BLANCHE RUSSELL. - Mrs. Blanche Hughes Russell, 78, died at 5:35 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 1968, at her home in Raywick. She had been in ill health for several months. Mrs. Russell, a native of Marion County, born April 19, 1890, was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Costello Hughes, and was the widow of Dave B. Russell. Survivors include four sons, William, James E. and Joseph A. Russell of Louisville, and Ernest Russell, Earlville, IL.; four daughters, Mrs. William Vessells, Raywick, Mrs. William Heustis, Louisville, Mrs. Louis Badgett, Coldwater, Ohio, and Mrs. Stanley Wheeler, Jeffersonville, Ind.; and 45 grandchildren. Also surviving are two half-brothers, Rev. Raymond Hughes, Fredericktown, and E. M. Hughes, Tiskilwa, IL.; a sister, Mrs. Ed Cecil, Lebanon, and three half-sisters, Mrs. Charles Mattingly, Lebanon, Mrs. Robbie Robinson, Owensboro, and Miss Helen Hughes, Louisville. The body was at Bosley Funeral Home, where the Rosary was held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral was held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Church by the Rev. Thomas Caldwell. Burial was in the church cemetery.
