Marie Rush, 72, of Pittston Avenue, Scranton, formerly of Park Avenue Towers, Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday at home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Oct. 14, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Ludwig and Gertrude Knauer Seess.
She attended GAR Memoral High School, Wilkes-Barre.
She was formerly employed by RCA, Mountaintop, and later by Standard Brands, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Wilkes-Barre. She also was a former member of St. Boniface Church, Wilkes-Barre, and the Rolling Mill Hill Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1976; sister, Gertrude Tyson; brothers, Louie and Jackie Seess.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Cynthia DePowell, Scranton, with whom she resided; sister, Mrs. Anthony (Theresa) Penkala, Edwardsville; brother, George Seess, Las Vegas, Nev.; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Friday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, Park Avenue and South Street, Wilkes-Barre, with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Boniface Church.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
