Alfred Marion Rude was the son of Harvey and Dora (Drury) Rude and was raised in the Goldendale/Maryhill, Washington, area. He was married to Violet A. Wilkins in Toppenish, Washington, on Sept. 26, 1935. The family moved to St. Helens in 1951.
Al worked for the Boise Cascade paper mill from 1951 until his retirement in 1978. He enjoyed traveling, especially visiting the coast, and visiting with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife Violet in 1990. He is survived by his 2 daughters and 3 sons, brothers Jimmy of California and John of Seattle and a sister, Juanita Vatalaro of Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
