Glenn E. "Popeye" Rowe, 89, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, in Ligonier. He was born Jan. 29, 1919, in Greensburg, a son of the late Walter C. and Agnes Rowe. Glenn had served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and was a retired employee of Robertshaw Controls Co. in New Stanton with 35 years of service, never missing a single day of work. He had attended Calvary Chapel in Greensburg, and was an avid golfer, enjoying playing at Robertshaw Acres. Glenn was an affectionate person who always thought of other people first and who always adored his wife and family. Surviving are his loving wife, Loretta (Stevenson) Rowe; three children, Karin Personett and husband, Dale, of Ligonier, the Rev. Curtis Rowe and wife, Cathy, of Springfield, Mass., and David Rowe and wife, Jackie, of Jeannette; a sister, Eleanor Stevenson, of Mt. Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Monday at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Curtis Rowe officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
