"Funeral Services Held For Lebanon Resident
Funeral services for Mrs. Cordelia Breeden, of Lebanon, who died August 17 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. B. Sullins, in Crocker, were conducted the following Sunday morning in the Sullin home by Rev. C. Smutz. The body was taken to Cookville, Mo., and buried in the St. Annie Church Cemetery.
Those attending the funeral services at Crocker from here were her daughters, Mrs. Roberta Skidmore, Mrs. T. H. Haynes, Mrs. Nina Cook and Mrs. Livella singleton, and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Thomas.
Cordelia Rowden, daughter of Robert M. and Nancy Anne Rowden, was born December 28, 1851, at Tavern, Maries County, Missouri. At the age of 12 years she moved with her parents to Vienna, Mo., where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to John W. Breeden November 14, 1869, and twelve children were born to the union, nine of whom survive. In march, 1891, the family moved to a farm near Cookville, where they resided for many years. After the death of her husband in March 1931, she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Roberta Skidmore. She had gone to Crocker about a month ago for a visit.
Mrs. Breeden was a charter member of the St. Annie Baptist Church at cookville.
The sons and daughters who survive her are Clint and Charles R., of Waynesville, George of Cookville, Joe of Emporia, Kans., Mrs. Roberta Skidmore, Mrs. T. H. Haynes, Mrs. Nina Cook and Mrs. Livella Singleton, all of Lebanon, and Mrs. J. B. Sullins, of Crocker. There are also 38 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a brother, S. Rowden of Springfield."
