James Franklin (went by Frank) Rothrock was the youngest of nine known children of Joel Rothrock (1808-1879) and Susanna (went by Susan) Clodfelter (1814-1891), who married 25 Mar 1834 at Davidson County, North Carolina.
Frank first married to Lucy Jane Clodfelter (1858-1923) on 30 Nov 1876 at Edwards County, Illinois. Frank and Lucy were the parents of two known children, namely:
1. Wallace Watson Rothrock (1877-1949)
2. Hattie Mae Rothrock Hall (1881-1952)
After Lucy died, Frank remarried to the widow Mrs. Teresa Enger Brasier (1864-1933) on 28 Apr 1926 at Osceola County, Florida. Frank and Teresa were the parents of no known children.
In 1880 the family was living at West Salem, Edwards County, Illinois along with Frank's widowed mother Susan and and Aunt Betsey. In 1900 the parents were living alone at Edwards County, Salem Township, Illinois. Lucy said she was the mother of two children, both living. In 1910 the parents were living with their daughter Hattie and her family at Anaconda Township, Deer Lodge County, Montana with Frank listed as a guard at an insane asylum. In 1920 the parents were living alone at Central Point, Jackson County, Oregon.
