Paulina Rothrock Clodfelter was the youngest of seven known children of Philip Rothrock (1776-1858) and Christina Hauser Rothrock (1777-1855), who married 20 Mar 1800 at Friedberg, Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. The family moved from the Moravian Community of Friedberg to the Moravian Community of West Salem, Edwards County, Illinois in 1843.
Paulina married John C. (or John A.?) Clodfelter (c1810-p1880) on 11 Oct 1843 at Edwards County, Illinois. Paulina and John were the parents of seven known children, five boys and two girls, namely:
1. Hamilton Clodfelter (1844-p1860)
2. Philip Michael Clodfelter (1845-1883)
3. John Francis Clodfelter (1848-p1860)
4. Phoebe Ann Clodfelter Andrus (1850-1913)
5. Susan Elizabeth Clodfelter (1852-1852)

7. Henry Franklin Clodfelter (1856-1856)
After Paulina died John remarried to the widow Elizabeth Jane __________ Mitchell before 1860. John and Elizabeth had at least five additional children, John and Elizabeth were still living at Edwards County, Illinois in 1880. Elizabeth was a widow, living at West Salem in 1900.
