Lydia Rothrock was the fourth of seven known children of Philip Rothrock (1776-1858) and Christina Hauser Rothrock (1777-1855), who married 20 Mar 1800 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina.

Lydia married Charles Christian Walk (1805-1873) on 11 Dec 1827 at Friedberg, located on the border of present day Forsyth and Davidson Counties, North Carolina. Charles and Lydia were the parents of seven known children; namely:

1. Lewis Parmenio Walk (1828-1830)
2. Joel Alexander Walk (1830-1849)
3. Sophia Christina Walk Robinson Painter Voigt (1832-1911)
4. Henrietta Elisabeth Walk (1835-1846)
5. Samuel Phillip Walk (1837-1874)
6. Amanda Ernestine Walk Voigt Cantwell (1840-1901)
7. Joseph Orestus Walk (1842-1902)

The family moved from North Carolina to the Pinhook region of Edwards County, Illinois in 1844; along with many other Moravian families from the Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, area.

Included below are links to the memorials for Lydia's parents, husband and six of her seven known children. The youngest child, Joseph, moved to Texas in about 1876 where he died. It is not known where he is buried.
