MACON – Sara R. Darsey, 88, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at a local nursing care facility. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday at Lizella Baptist Church with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Joe McDaniel and the Rev. Shannon Back will officiate. The family will meet friends from 7 – 9 p.m. Friday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue and suggests that those who wish make memorial contributions to H.O.P. E. (Helping Others Promote Encouragement) Care Ministry, c/o Lizella Baptist Church, 2950 S. Lizella Road, Lizella, GA 31052.

Mrs. Darsey, wife of the late Clinton H. Darsey, was a lifelong resident of Macon and the daughter of the late James and Sara Colquitt Ross. She was an aircraft sheet metal mechanic retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Darsey was a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother who loved her family with all her heart.

Survivors include her daughters Mary Ann (Rick) Paul of Lizella and Donna (Ron) Knight of Macon; her grandchildren, Stacy (Sam Hutto) Buffington and Bailey Knight, all of Macon; her great grandchild, Kaleb Hutto of Macon.

Snow's Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Services, Pio Nono Avenue has charge of arrangements.
