BRIGHAM CITY - Lola Rose Andersen, age 86, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 1994 of cancer. Born January 2, 1908 at Park Valley, Utah, a daughter of Abraham and Mary Carter Rose.

She was raised in Snowville, on the Rose Ranch, attending school in Snowville, Park Valley, Brigham City and graduating from Box Elder High School and later receiving a nursing degree from the Thomas Dee Memorial Hospital at Ogden in 1930.

On June 26, 1930, she married Floyd Charles Andersen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Ogden for a short time, then moved to Brigham City, where they lived for 60 years in the same home. Her husband died June 20, 1989.

She worked at Cooley Memorial Hospital from 1952 to 1974. She was active all of her life in civic and church affairs, an honorary member of the Civic Club, a charter member of the Book Lore Club, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and active in PTA. She served as Vital Statistics Registrar for ten years.

Active in the LDS Church, she served in the stake and ward Relief Society, ward Junior Sunday School and the,Young Womens MIA. In 1974 she with her husband, served a mission in the Independence and Liberty Jail visitor centers. They also served as guides at the Box Elder Stake Tabernacle.

Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Gerald (Gwen) Skiby, Layton, Ut.; three sons, Dee F. and wife Frances Andersen, Orem, Ut.; Charles A, Andersen, Tacoma, Wash.; Kenneth W. and wife Corliss Andersen, Mesa, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, three-sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 2, 1994, at 11 a.m. in the Brigham City Eleventh Ward Chapel, 524 South 200 East. Friends may call at the ward chapel Wednesday from 10 until 10:45 a.m.

Burial will be in the Brigham City Cemetery, arrangements by Petersen Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the many friends and neighbors, particularly to Roxanne Tippetis, for help during their mother's illness.
