Bobbie Lou Herod, 85, of Lubbock passed away on March 14, 2018, at the Carillon Lifecare Community. Graveside service will be held Saturday, March 17, at 2 p.m. at Forest Park Cemetery, Greenville. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Bobbie was born April 24, 1932, in Rains County, Texas, to William and Vera Barrett Romine. She married Harold Akins on June 4, 1948, in Hunt County, Texas. He preceded her in death June 1, 1967. She later married Bill Herod, who also preceded her in death in 2007. She had a great love for life and was a friend to everyone she met.
Bobbie is survived by her son, Richard Akins and wife Susie of Lubbock; daughters Chris Woolam of Lubbock, Pam Akins and husband Barry Levinson of Sarasota, Fla., and Pat Hanna and husband Mart of Kerrville; son-in-law Dennis Woodward of Wichita, Kan.; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Cindy Woodward, sisters Betsy Wallace and Lorene Dart, and brothers Valton Romine and Johnny Romine.
