She was born April 1, 1927, in West Plains, Mo., to James Wallace and Virginia Drago Rogers. She had worked at the Collins Volkswagen agency, for Otasco and had served as Emporia city clerk. She later was a teller for Capitol Federal Savings in Emporia.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Emporia and a former deacon at the church. She was a member of the auxiliary to Ball-McColm Post No. 5 of the American Legion and Beta Sigma Phi business sorority, both in Emporia.
She and Melville W. Archer Jr. were married Sept. 4, 1949, in Emporia. He died July 17, 1977.
Survivors include a son, James Daniel Archer, St. Joseph, Mo.; a daughter, Lisa Dee Milam, Emporia; half-sisters, Helen Russell, Overland Park, and Ann Boyce, Gering, Neb.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Emporia. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics of Missouri and sent in care of the funeral home.
