On April 12, 1909 in Taunton, MA, Manuel R. Amiral, 28, a weaver, born to Joao & Geronima Gloria, married Rose Rodrigues, 21, born to Peter & Mary Augusta. Both were natives of the Western Islands, and this was the first marriage for both.

Mrs. Rosa (Rodriques) Amaral of 12 Webster Street, widow of Manuel R. Amaral, died this morning at Morton Hospital after a long illness. She was 85. Born in Terceira, Azores, daughter of the late Pedro and Maria Rodriques, she came to this city 70 year ago, and was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church.
Surviving are three sons, Joseph R., Noah and Richard R., all of this city; one daughter, Mrs. Leo (Jeromina) Duphily of North Providence, RI; 17 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
