Mr. Rodgers Dies, Funeral Tomorrow
William Preston (Press) Rodgers, 64, of Route B, Griffin, died suddenly at 1:30
this morning at his home. He was born in Jackson County, but had lived in
Griffin for the past 45 years. He was employed by Dundee Mill No. 1 in the weave
room.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude McDonald Rodgers; a son T. Leon Rodgers;
three daughters, Mrs. Beatrice McLean, Mrs. Ruth Wilson, and Mrs. Grace Bridges,
all of Griffin, four brothers, Guy Rodgers, Joe Rodgers, Sam Rodgers, all of
Griffin, and Lee Rodgers of Forsyth, Georgia.
Funeral Services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 5 o'clock from the East
Griffin Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. Fred Cox and the Rev. James
Rawls officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery.
His body was carried to the residence near Brooks this afternoon at 4 o'clock.
Haisten Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
