She was the daughter of Capt. Iverson Twyman and Emma (Miller) Rodes and married George Clarke Goodrich - 01 Oct 1889 - Lincoln Co., Tennessee. His obituary follows:

Mrs. Mary Rodes Goodrich died at her home in Anniston, Alabama Wednesday afternoon. She had lunch and retired for a short rest and died in her sleep of a heart attack. She was the wife of Mr. George C. Goodrich, at one time a leading business man of this place, but had been a resident of Anniston for more than thirty years. Her father was the late Capt. I. T. Rodes, who was the Nashville and Chattanooga Agent for a number of years before his death.

The funeral service was held in Anniston Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, after which her remains were brought to the Higgins Funeral Home where a prayer service was held at 4 o'clock, conducted by Rev. L. K. Foster, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, by the side of her husband, who died about thirty-four years ago.

She is survived by one daughter, Miss Mildred Goodrich, and one son, Mr. Rodes Goodrich; two brothers, Mr. I. T. Rodes of Anniston, and Mr. Henry Rodes of Nashville.

Mrs. Goodrich's Funeral Is Held -
Former Fayetteville Native Brought Home From Anniston, Alabama --

FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn., -- March 14 -- Mrs. Mary Rodes Goodrich died at her home in Anniston, Alabama, Wednesday afternoon. She had lunch and retired for a short rest. She died in her sleep of a heart attack.

She was the widow of George C. Goodrich, a one-time leading business man of Fayetteville, but had been a resident of Anniston for more than 30 years. Her father was the late Capt. I. T. Rodes, who was the Nashville and Chattanooga depot agent here for a number of years before his death.

The funeral service was held in Anniston, Thursday morning, after which the remains were brought to the Higgins Funeral Home here where a prayer service was held at 4 o'clock. The Rev. L. K. Foster of the Fayetteville Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, beside the grave of her husband, who died about 34 years ago.

Surviving are one daughter, Miss Mildred Goodrich, and a son, Rodes Goodrich; two brothers, I. T. Rodes, Anniston, and Henry Rodes of Nashville.
