The Herald Journal, 06/24/04

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Elizabeth Rock Anderson, 90, passed away on June 22, 2004.
She was born on Aug. 17, 1913, in Avon, Utah, to Frank and Eleanor Bankhead Rock. She was the fourth of eight children. She spent her childhood in Avon and Paradise. While attending South Cache High School, she met and fell in love with Morris Anderson. They were married on July 9, 1932, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on Dec. 12, 1934. They became the parents of one daughter and two sons. Morris passed away on July 18, 1979.

Beth was a lifelong, faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the church and gave many years of service in it. She was always willing to serve when called, whether it was at the stake or ward level. She served in many positions for the church, including Relief Society, Primary and the Sunday School organizations. She has also been a faithful and dedicated visiting teacher for many years. She was an active member of the Daniel H. Wells camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers for 43 years.

She was an extremely hard worker and worked side by side with Morris in every aspect of their ranch/dry farm near Bancroft, Idaho, during the summer months and returned to their Wellsville home during the winter months.

She was very talented and creative with her hands and made many beautiful quilts, afghans and sweaters for her children and grandchildren. Beth always kept a beautiful yard and has always enjoyed working outside in her flower gardens. She could be found outside nearly every morning and evening, from May to September, on her knees, tending her flowers.

Her home was truly a "grandma's home." You never left her home without eating something. She always had treats for everyone that visited, including cold Pepsi. Many children growing up in Wellsville have known her as Grandma Beth. She has invited them into her home, always offering treats to all of them.

She was a true and loyal Jazz fan and could be found in front of the TV, cheering during every game. She also enjoyed watching and cheering her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their various sports and activities.

Beth is survived by her two sons, Frank Morris Anderson and Rock (Jackie) Anderson, both of Wellsville; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Arch (Marge) Rock of Logan; and a sister, Ann (Dewey) Beck of Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter; two sisters; and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, June 26, 2004, at the Wellsville Stake Center, 30 S. Center.

Interment will be in the Wellsville Cemetery.
