She was born Sept. 24, 1927, in Moro, Ark., the daughter of Jeff and Clara Dampeer. She married Robert Robison who preceded her in death on March 13, 1987.
Gladys was a faithful member of Monroe Street Christian Church where she was active in many ministries. She faithfully attended Sunday school and Tuesday night Bible Study.
Gladys retired from the Springfield Urban League Head Start and spent the peak of her career as a Chef at Top of the Arch.
Gladys was a kind, sharing friend that opened her heart and home to all. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her eight children: Clara , Jewell , Elbert , Mariella , Marietta , Barbara, Debora and Robert; 25 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren; sisters: Ceretha, Shirley, Barbara, Joyce and Reola ; brother, Steve; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Isaac Brayboy; sisters: Mattie Harris, Dorothy Broadway and Evelyn Dampeer; one grandchild, and one great-grandchild.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
