Lorene F. Crone, age 92, of Washington, Iowa died Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the United Presbyterian Home following a decline in health.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday November 19, 2010 at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home with Rev. Marlene Janssen officiating. Visitation will begin 12:00 p.m. Thursday at the Jones - Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established to Hospice of Washington County, West Chester United Methodist Church and the United Presbyterian Home.

Lorene was born August 1, 1918 near West Chester in Washington County, Iowa the daughter of Ralph J. and Eva (Fleming) Robertson. She attended Enterprise Country School. Later she graduated from Washington High School and attended Washington Junior College. Lorene was united in marriage to Cloyce Crone on October 20, 1938 in Kahoka, Missouri.

Lorene worked as a bookkeeper and clerk at Spurgeon's. She also worked for Pioneer Drug. Lorene was a faithful farm wife who helped her husband in their farming operation. She was a member of the West Chester United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and was a strong volunteer at the church. She was a member of the Merry Mixer Club and a volunteer at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Lorene loved her family and was a devoted grandmother.

Lorene is survived by her husband, Cloyce Crone of Washington; daughter, Connie Forinash and husband Mike of West Chester; son, Jay Crone and wife Cheri of West Chester; grandchildren, Bryan Forinash and wife Janet of Sterling, Colorado; Aaron Forinash and wife Janet of Peoria, Illinois; Jeff Crone of Iowa City; Brad Crone of Iowa City; one great grandson, Brett Forinash of Sterling, Colorado; niece, Phyllis Scott of Georgia; one nephew, Tom Crone of Tama, Iowa; and other numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one nephew, Jack Crone.
