A memorial service was held Saturday, January 17, at the Isle Baptist Church with Pastor Nick Skogen officiating.
Arrangements were by Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.
Lila was born November 9, 1921, to George and Vera Louise (Mandell) Roberts in Palisade. She graduated from Aitkin High School in 1939 and attended Duluth Teachers College, earning her teaching certificate.
She taught school at several one-room schoolhouses in communities like Giese and Swatara. Later she moved to the larger school system of Ogilvie where she enjoyed teaching the primary grades. She married Edwin Irving Bossen June 16, 1950, in Ogilvie and retired from teaching.
She was employed as a cook at nursing homes in Mora, was active on the county library board, owned and operated the Isle Bakery Coffee Shop, was active in Ogilvie United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities within the church. She was also active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Isle VFW, and loved dancing with the Rum River Squares dance club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Ada and Leslie Swedeen; and brothers-in-law, Melvin Millam and Marvin Bossen.
