Murdered Victim

Joseph Edward Roane III, 24, of the 3000 block of Timbercrest Court in Chesterfield, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012.

Police received an anonymous 911 call about 12:15pm Saturday, April 21, 2012, to check on a man in the Waterside Apartments in the 6400 block of Wooden Glen Court. Police entered and found Roane dead inside, no one else was found in the apartment.

Roane was reported missing about 12 hours after he was shot. Police said Phillip B. Shaw, who lived in the apartment, Roane and another man had been drinking at a restaurant and traveled to Shaw's apartment early Saturday morning.

He was a carpenter and a cook at River City Diner at the Shoppes at Bellgrade for the past four months.

He is survived by his mother, Julie Roane; father, Joseph E. Roane, Jr.; grandmothers, Rachel Eubanks and Marcia Roane; sisters, Brandy Childs, Amanda Roane, and Kaitlen Roane; half-sister Hope Roane; half-brother, Casey Roane; nephew, Jayce E. Wade; niece, Nevaeh Jones; second family, Rada, Marshe, and Tre` Bonaparte.

The family received friends from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road (Rte. 10).

A memorial service for Joeseph was held at a later date.
