Christine P. Smith Roach, 77, of New Brighton, Pennsylvania, departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in Manorcare Pittsburgh.
She was born October 10, 1936 in Pahokee, FL, daughter of the late Joseph and Mollie Gearlds Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Rodger J. Roach, on April 16, 2013.
She was a retired CNA with the Providence Nursing Care Home in Beaver Falls. She was a faithful member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Beaver Falls, where she served with the Missionary Society, was a member of the AUBA and past President of the Women's Auxiliary. She was also a former member of Morning Star Baptist Church of Clairton.
Surviving are her children, Lisa Molleen Roach (Lawrence) Lindsay of Charlotte, NC, and Jennis Randolph Roach of Cleveland, OH; two granddaughters, Haydn Cherie Roach and Brianna Corrin Sallis; sister-in-law, Marva Roach of Clairton; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Friends will be received Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 630 Third Ave., Beaver Falls, and Monday, June 9, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Morning Star Baptist Church, Clairton. From 7 to 8 p.m. both evenings, the family invites friends to share their memories during a Memorial Service. Private committal services will be held Tuesday, June 10th at the Jefferson Memorial Park Mausoleum, Pleasant Hills, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dwight Banks officiating.
Entombment will follow.
