She was the daughter of the late William W. and Stella (Udick) Ritter.
Mrs. Alwine was a member of First Lutheran Evangelical Church, New Oxford. She taught English as a second language, taught reading to adults, volunteered with the New Oxford library, received a certificate for voting in every Adams County election for over 50 straight years and was also secretary at First Lutheran church.
She was the wife of the late Philip E. "Tip" Alwine, who departed this life March 13, 2006, and is survived by a son, Douglas O. Alwine of Weare, NH; three daughters, Alice E. Alwine of Bay Shore, NY, Lois J. Kerr of Crane, MT and Joyce A. Eckhoff of Savage, MT; four grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
