LA RAE RILEY KIRKHART, passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, August 8 at her home. Born November 14, 1923 to prominant Orange County businessman and former county supervisor, Harry D. Riley and his wife Alice Gillam Riley. La Rae lived her entire life in Anaheim, attending local schools, graduating from Anaheim High School in 1942. Her keen design sense and love of people served her well during her many years managing the Ruggles Gift Shops at the Disneyland Hotel and later as a buyer and general manager of the entire chain of Papel-owned gift shops througout Southern California. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Walt Kirkhart, their son Mark and his wife Mary of Santa Barbara, sister Marion and husband James Reinert of Fullerton and brother Harry Riley of Phoenix, AZ. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Hilgenfeld Mortuary, 120 East Broadway, Anaheim, CA.
