Charles Ridgely, Esq Departed this life, November 25th 1785 in his 48th year; A term lamented as short By his family, Friends and Country. But consummated in Virtue and public usefulness A Magistrate, able upright and merciful A lawgiver, wise, temperate, incorruptible A Physician, dilligent, skillful, humane A friend, a master; a husband and Father; By none excelled! The stone was placed over his Remains By his mournful widow and children As monument of that love, Gratitude, & Veneration Which will never be erased from their Hearts Till their ashes mix with his!
