Services for Verna Richmond Denison, 79 of Columbia were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2007 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Jim Goodman and Rev. Keith Thomas officiating. Interment followed in the Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson.
Mrs. Denison was born in Hebert on January 15, 1928 to the union of Jessie Thomas and Bedie Taylor Richmond and died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Columbia.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Jack Denison, her grandson: Scott Denison and her brothers: Clyde Richmond, Maurice Richmond and Elvin Richmond.
Survivors include her sons: Darrell Denison and his wife Shirley of Monroe, Randy Denison of Vick, LA and Denny Denison of Grayson, her daughter: Ann Harper and her husband Jerry of Columbia, her sisters: Gladys McLain and Myrtle Sanders both of Columbia and Myrtis Stapleton of Kelly, her special friend Hattie McNemar of Smithdale, MS, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Danny McLain, Bill Richmond, Tim Richmond, Chester Stapleton, Thomas Stapleton and Ronnie Sanders.
