Thelma R. Phillips, 100, died peacefully in Sentara Virginia Beach General
Hospital April 3, 2002.
Born in Roanoke, Va., Jan. 1, 1902, she was the wife of the late George G.
Phillips Sr. She is survived by her son, George G. Phillips Jr. and her
daughter-in-law, Frances R. Phillips of Millboro, Va.; three grandchildren,
Selby P. Smith of Suffolk, Anne P. McVey and George G. Phillips III, both of
Richmond; and six great-grandchildren.
