Raquel Blomquist, 35 passed away on April 1, 2013 in Park City, UT. She was born May 10, 1977 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joel Nevin Richards, Jr and Shelly Diane Gill. She was a graduate of Central High School and studied at Salt Lake Community College and USC. She enjoyed a career in Real Estate and was lucky enough to travel the world as a flight attendant. Raquel married Peter Blomquist in Salt Lake City on Oct. 25, 2003. They made Park City their home where Raquel enjoyed being a homemaker and loving mother. She was involved in her kids school activities and as a Cub Scout leader. Always quick to reach out to anyone in need, she loved doing volunteer work with the disabled. Raquel was very organized and enjoyed arranging events and activities. Blessed with a keen intellect she found great satisfaction in debating ideas with anyone willing to challenge her.
Raquel is preceded in death by her brother Riley Joel and grandfathers Doyle D. Gill and J. Nevin Richards, survived by her husband Peter, her children Soren and Tait, her father Joel, stepmother Beverly, mother Shelly, grandmothers Virginia Richards and Opal Butler, numerous family members. She will be missed by her extended family in Finland and Sweden.
Farewell, Raquel, you will remain forever in our hearts.
Viewing will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Salt Lake City, Utah on Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service will be at Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church, Park City, Utah, Monday, April 8, 2013 at noon.
