June 6, 1933 - January 24, 2013
Fay was born in Rector, Arkansas. Her parents came to Bakersfield in early 1937. She met the love of her life and they were married 4 years later.
They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on January 13, 2013. She is survived by her loving husband.
Fay had a great capacity for loving people outside of her immediate family, which was evident by how she touched the lives of so many people. She opened her home to foster children and friends of her own children who were going through rough times or just needed a place to stay. Her heart, arms, and door were always open to those in need. She worked as a Nutrition Aide for the University of California Extension Service through the Farm and Home Advisors Office teaching nutrition and money management to people in low-income areas.
She also volunteered at her childrens school. She was a Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, taxied children to and from school and sporting events. She was a great cook and loved to bake.
Fay is already and will continue to be sorely missed. We take great comfort in knowing that she went home to be with Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 24, 2013.
