Helene Reilly Fernys, 65, a former Inquirer advertising employee, died of encephalitis Monday at Jeanes Hospital. She lived in Lawndale. Mrs. Fernys worked at The Inquirer as an ad taker from 1951, after graduating from Little Flower High School, until 1963. For 10 years until her retirement in 1997, she worked in a similar capacity at the Catholic Standard and Times. She also had worked at the New York Times and the Philadelphia Bulletin. She is survived by her husband, Max A. "Fritz" Fernys; two brothers; and two sisters. A viewing will be held at 7 p.m. today at the James M. Campbell Funeral Home, 500 E. Benner St., Lawndale. A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at St. William Church, 6100 Rising Sun Ave. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham."
