Jim was born on August 19, 1938 in Adrian, Minnesota to Russell and Eleanor (Cass) Reese. He grew up in Adrian and attended St. Adrian School.
Jim married Nancy Jo Sailor on May 12, 1960 at St. Adrian Catholic Church. They moved to Glendale, California where Jim worked for his uncle, Ray. In 1967, Jim and his family moved back to Adrian. Jim operated the Sinclair Gas Station for a number of years and then bought Adrian Auto Repair.
Jim worked hard all his life. When he wasn't working on some else's car or helping someone on the highway, he was busy rebuilding and restoring his collector cars. He took many of those cars to area car shows and won several awards for them. Back in the day, you could find him at the race tracks with car #108 at the local tracks on the weekends. He also enjoyed shooting pool, playing pinochle, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his two daughters and their spouses, Kim and Don Kunkel of Adrian, Cheri and Mike Myers of Allen, TX; grandchildren, Josh Myers of Chicago, IL, Chelsea (Andrew) Bethke of Princeton, TX, Justin and Cole Myers of Allen, TX, Tilly (Austin) Scarset of Luvern, MN; great grandchildren, Axel, Estelle, Ivy and Danica; siblings, Lowell (Judy) Reese, Marlene (Boysie) Bullerman, Robert (Mary) Reese, Barb (Allen) Spartz, Dave (Linda) Reese, Roger (Frances) Reese, Allen (Marge) Reese, Connie (Wayne) Bertel, Sharon Lorang and Kathy (Doug) Berning.
