Birth: Mar. 10, 1959
Death: May 22, 2007

Doug was born March 10, 1959, in Newport Beach, Calif. He graduated from Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill, Calif., in 1977 and received an AA degree in airframe and powerplant mechanics from Gavilan College in Gilroy, Calif. Doug most recently worked for Johnson Controls as a maintenance technician for Key Bank. Previously, he was employed by Universal Frozen Foods in Twin Falls, Idaho; Nob Hill Foods in Gilroy, Calif.; Denver Meat Company in San Jose, Calif.; Two Genes Aviation in San Martin, Calif.; and his first job at Napa Auto Parts in Morgan Hill, Calif.
In July 1984, Doug met the love of his life, Denise. They were engaged two weeks after meeting and married on Dec. 29, 1984. They enjoyed more than 22 years together in California and Idaho, serving God, building four homes together and raising two amazing sons. Their marriage exemplified a closeness and oneness that is beyond words. After 22 years, the newlywed gleam never left their eyes. Their two sons were his pride and joy. Their first son, Douglass III, was born Feb. 16, 1986, in San Jose, Calif., and their second son, Timothy, was born on March 22, 1992.
Doug carried his mechanical skills into every area of his life. He was an awesome "Mr. Fix-It," including cars, airplanes and houses. He often helped friends and family repairing anything that was broken. Doug collected and built small scale airplanes and enjoyed air shows.
Doug was an active member of his church and devoted to serving the Lord. He was blessed with a musical talent that he used to glorify God. His love of music was instilled in him at a young age by his family. Doug was raised singing in church and at family gatherings with his parents and siblings. He played the trombone and bass guitar and continually enjoyed praising God through music with his family, including jam sessions with his two sons. God was his comfort and, during his struggle with brain cancer, the Lord continually gave him songs of worship.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joy Rees; his mother in-law, Judy Schoorl; and his grandfather, Irvin A. Kemble. Doug is survived by his wife, Denise Lynn Rees; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Douglass III and Jennifer Rees of Lynnwood, Wash., and Timothy Rees of Meridian, Idaho; his parents, Douglass and Janice Rees of Morgan Hill, Calif.; his parents-in-law, Dennis and Linda Cramer of Buhl, Idaho; his grandmother, Evelyn Kemble of Ontario, Ore.; his grandfather, David Rees of Enterprise, Ore.; his grandparents, Martin and Mildred Novak of Buhl, Idaho; his brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Denise Rees of Morgan Hill, Calif.; his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Jeff Campbell of Hacienda Heights, Calif., and Susan and Darren McDonald of Bakersfield, Calif.; four sisters-in-law, Diane and Jess Masonheimer of Dove Canyon, Calif., Deena and Don Jordan of Humble, Texas, Melanie Cramer of Boise, Idaho, and Kimberly Cramer of Buhl, Idaho; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews
