Naomi V. Reed, 85, of Pana, died Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 4:30 p.m. in Pana Community Hospital. She was born June 16, 1922 in rural Tower Hill, Cold Springs in Shelby County IL, the daughter of James Wesley and Elizabeth Della Milligan Bland. Naomi had lived her entire life in the Pana area. She was a homemaker and loved reading and her grandchildren.
She married John Francis Calvin Reed on September 13, 1938 in Pana, IL. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1961.
Naomi is survived by her children: Dennis Francis Reed & wife Lynda, Pana, IL; Jamed Eugene "Gene" Reed, Pana, IL; and Norman Lee Reed & wife Marjorie, Forsyth, IL; 8 Grandchildren: Mark Reed & wife Kelly, Pana, IL; Gina Trexler & husband Mike, Pana, IL; Michael Reed & wife Joan, Edwardsville, IL; John Reed & wife Jodi, Pana, IL; Laurie Sievers, Sullivan, IL; Angela Kasarcik & husband Dave, Bolingbrook, IL; and Shawn Reed, Forsyth, IL; 8 Great Grandchildren: Jaclyn Reed, Blake Berner, Justin Reed, Reagan Reed, Jennifer Kater, Jessica Kater, Sarah Kater, and Jakob Kasarcik; and sister, Juanita Tetley, Pana, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Elaine Sievers; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Visitation was Sunday, August 19, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home. Funeral services were Sunday in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Orville Denton and Rev. Robert Russell officiating. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery, Pana.
Special hymns played at the service were "Amazing Grace", "Old Rugged Cross", and "How Great Thou Art". Serving as casket bearers were Mark Reed, Michael Reed, John Reed, Shawn Reed, Justin Reed, and Blake Berner.
