Constance Elizabeth (Redding) Slama passed into the arms of her Lord on May 23, 2009. Born to Bernard W. Sr. and Maude Redding on Jan.10, 1923 in Gettysburg. Constance was born in rural Gettysburg and attended Pitzers Elementary School and graduated in 1941 from Gettysburg High School. After graduation, she worked at several jobs, including the Redding Grocery Store on Chambersburg Street during World War II.

Constance met and married Donald Slama and they lived at several different locations, including Hawaii, while he served with the U.S. Navy. Born to this union were three children, John, Tina and Roger. They made their home in Lincoln, Neb. after retirement.

Constance is survived by her beloved husband, Donald, of 56 years; her three children and three grandchildren, Robert, Ann and Kathryn. Additional survivors are her brother, Bernard W. Redding Jr. of Gettysburg; a sister, Madolin Keinard of Baltimore, Md.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Redding of Omaha, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews.

Constance was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Winton Redding and William Redding.

Services for Constance were held at St. Michael's Catholic Church at Cheney, Neb. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery, Lincoln, Neb.
