Rushville, Oct. 24 — After an illness of two years, Mrs. Triphena Bates
died at the home of her son, L. R. Bates, Saturday. The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rosewell Raymond, and was born in Cohocton, N.Y. March 28, 1826. About sixty years ago she married Albert Bates, and they began housekeeping on the farm where her death occurred; and where she has lived during her entire married life.
She leaves two children, Linwood R. Bates, and Mrs. Warren Hawley, both of Rushville: and one brother, Milo Raymond, of South Haven, Mich., who is over ninety years of age.
