From a book published about December 21, 1897, "Secretary's report – Harvard College (1780- ). Class of 1887":

At the time of the last report he was with the Fairchild Paper Co., and lived in Beverly. October 15th, 1891, he was married at Detroit to Caroline Endicott, daughter of Charles and Caroline (Leach) Endicott. December 29th, 1892, a daughter was born, Constance Endicott Rantoul.

My residence up to February, 1896, was Boston, since which time I have been located at Ticonderoga, N. Y., where I haye charge of the paper department of the Ticonderoga Pulp and Paper Co. My second child, Endicott Rantoul, was born in Ticonderoga, November 18th, 1896. I have taken no part whatever in politics, and have taken no journeys out side of numerous small and short trips for business purposes from time to time.
