April 11, 1919 ~ September 16, 2009

Mrs. Lillian Blankenship left this earthly plain on September 16, 2009 in the arms of her Savoir and Lord Jesus Christ. She was surrounded by her children as she made her transition. She was born in Holmes County, Florida on April 11, 1919 to George Pickett and Clory Ann Powell Ramer. She was a granddaughter of Elias and Elvira Ramer who homesteaded and established the Sandy Creek Baptist Church in the late 1800's. She was a Sunday School Teacher at Sandy Creek for 30 years. She taught at the Oakland School in the Sandy Creek Community.
Lillian was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, three brothers Johnnie, Alchus and Lester Ramer

Lillian is survived by her husband of 69 ˝ years Charles Darrell Blankenship of Ponce De Leon, Florida; her daughters Dolores Ann Cook and husband Jim of Ponce De Leon, Florida and Glenda Jane Goodwin and husband Cecil of Theodore, Alabama; two sons Elton Darrell Blankenship of Ponce De Leon, Florida and Christopher Douglass Blankenship of Cheraw, South Carolina; grandchildren Timothy Goodwin and wife Cammie of Enterprise, Alabama, Cecilia Wiley of Theodore, Alabama, Brian Goodwin and wife Dana of Troy, Alabama, Jason L. Cook and wife Jeri Ann of Bulgaria, Europe; great grandchildren Rhiannon Blankenship Sutton and husband William of Ponce De Leon, Florida, Christopher Dakota Blankenship of Vernon, Florida, Caleb Davis Blankenship of Cheraw, South Carolina, Kayla, Grace and Christy Goodwin, Bailey and Brinley Goodwin, Shane and Brandon Wiley all of Alabama, Sofia B. Cook of Bulgaria, Europe, one great great granddaughter Lillian Hope Sutton ‘aka' Lilly. She is also survived by her sister Toby Lee Ramer Pate of Fountain, Florida and numerous nieces, nephews, two very special friends Westa Ann Buckalew of Florala, Alabama and Faye Brown of Ponce De Leon, Florida. The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. James Howell and Mary Sutton, and the entire staff at the Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and the ICU Unit at Healthmark Regional Medical Center for their kindness and help.

A time of visitation will be held from 6:00~8:00 PM, Thursday, September17, 2009 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 18, 2009 at Sandy Creek Baptist Church at 1125 Line Road, Ponce De Leon, Florida 32455 with Reverends Kenneth Harrison, Toby Stone and Dan Padgett officiating. Burial will follow in the Sandy Creek Cemetery. Floral arrangements are being accepted.
