ATHENS, Texas — Services for Leoma "Leo" Cowden, 87, Athens are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, Athens, with Rev. Bill Hauck officiating, under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens.

Graveside services and interment will follow at 4 p.m. in the Nocona Cemetery in Nocona.

Mrs. Cowden died October 2, 2011, in Tyler.

She was born March 15, 1924, in Archer County to the late Almous and Ida Ruth Jones Rambo.

Mrs. Cowden retired from First Wichita National Bank, Wichita Falls after a 40 year tenure. She was a 1942 graduate of Wichita Falls High School where she was a member of the tennis team. She moved to Athens in 1982 and was an active member of First Christian Church.

Mrs. Cowden was preceded in death by her husband, David Cowden October 30, 2003; and a sister, Anna Mae Grimes.

Survivors include sisters, Loumelia Patterson, Irving, Tommye Crooke, Wichita Falls; her identical twin, Theo Mullins, Terrell; four nephews, two nieces,; and numerous great-nephews and nieces.

In lieu of floral arrangements, the family suggest memorials be made to First Christian Church, First Christian Church, P.O. Box 788, Athens, Texas, 75751
