Avanelle (Ragsdale) Beane


GAINESVILLE - Funeral services for Avanell (Ragsdale) Beane, 83, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, with Deacon Danny Laws officiating, assisted by John Clark and Mike Spain. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. No formal visitation is planned.

Mrs. Beane died May 4, 2013 in Gainesville.

She was born May 8, 1929, in Delaware Bend Community to Doss and Pearl (Phelps) Ragsdale. On November 29, 1947 she married Bill Beane. She was a nurse for over 20 years and a member of the Bowie Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons, Butch Beane of Gainesville, Joe Lynn Beane of Port Orange, Fla., and Hoot Beane of Gainesville; a brother, Buck Ragsdale of Aubrey; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son; Billy Don Beane; and five brothers and sisters.
