EMMET C. RODEWALD
Emmet C. Rodewald, age 84, of 3507 Joseph Road, Manitowoc, died Sunday afternoon,
May 22, 1994, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 1994, at Grace
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the
Rev. Keith Haag with burial to follow at the Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born August 29, 1909, in Newton, Wis., son of the late Oscar and Amanda
Kurtz Rodewald. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School Class of 1928.
He married the former Sylvia Guetschow on June 26, 1936. She preceded him in
death in April of 1962. He then married the former Bernice Bartel on May 11,
1963, in Morrison, Wis. Mr. Rodewald was the owner and operator of the Rodewald
Motor Garage in Newton for many years retiring in October of 1971. He was a past
director of the Newton State Bank and was a member of the County Board of
Adjustment and a member of the Board of Appeal, Town of Newton. Mr. Rodewald was
also an active member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Rodewald, Manitowoc; a son and daughter-in-law,
Glenn and Sarah Rodewald, Manitowoc; a granddaughter, Amy and Scott Bucher, Random
Lake; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton and Caroline Rodewald, Sheboygan,
Elroy and Florence Rodewald, Newton; a sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle and
Oliver Johnson, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Florence.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday
morning at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service
at 11 a.m.
