CLARENCE RODEWALD

Clarence H. Rodewald, age 87, formerly of 1807 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at St. Mary's Home. Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2004 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Loren Lindeman will officiate. Burial will take place on Monday morning, May 3, 2004 at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Clarence was born Sept. 18, 1916 in the town of Newton, son of the late Louis and Ida Carstens Rodewald. On May 25, 1946, Clarence married the former Caroline Hardrath at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death in 1995. Clarence began his working career as a wholesale distributor for the automotive industry, then the Paragon Company, following that the Manitowoc Company, and finally Clarence worked as a salesman for the American Lubricants Company Dayton, Ohio, for 14 years until his retirement. Clarence was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Survivors include his four children and their spouses: William and Margaret Rodewald, Manitowoc; Betty and Charles Schneider, Marquette, Mich.; Sharon and Daniel Glaeser, Manitowoc; Dennis and Christel Rodewald, Manitowoc; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Loretta Schwalbe, Kiel; Delores Krancus, Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Besides his parents and wife: Caroline, Clarence was preceded in death by one sister: Mildred Johansen; two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law: Ellen and Erwin Abelmann, Grace Hetland, Edmund Johansen and Elroy Schwalbe Relatives and friends may call at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, on Sunday, May 2, 2004 from 4.30 p.m. until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church or the donor's choice. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the Rodewald family with arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's Home for the many years of loving care.
