Magdelene "Maxine" Puryear, a longtime resident of Perry, Fla., before re-locating to New Jersey, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010, after enduring ill health for several years. She was 89.

She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1958 and spent more than 50 years sharing the message of God's Kingdom.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Melvin Alexander Puryear and her daughter-in-law, Norma Puryear of Willingboro; two sisters, Sara Houseman of Kinston, N.C. and Virginia Jeffries of Richmond, Va.; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews; and a multitude of spiritual brothers and sisters.

Memorial services are to be held 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 201 E. 11th St., Roselle, N.J.
