Mildred Purvis Eagerton , 87, widow of Allen Eagerton , died Saturday, January 11, 2003 in a local hospital after an illness. Born in Florence County, she was a daughter of the late Heyward Hubert and Florence Armfield Purvis. Mrs. Eagerton was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church and was active in its ministry until she was no longer able to attend. She was a member of the Milton Lodge Ladies Auxiliary Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
She was predeceased by brothers, Myers Purvis and Willard "Bill" Purvis; sisters, Genevieve Gregg, Grace Cain, Dexter Jordan and Annie Lou Hodge.
