Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock P.M., Wednesday, September 25 at Lebanon Church for Mrs. Annie Purcell Broocks, wife of the late Mr. C.M. Broocks. Services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.W. Bouldin of Drakes Branch. Interment was in the family cemetery at the home of Mr. H.V. Purcell.
Mrs. Broocks died September 23 after several weeks illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louise McGirt of Lenora, North Carolina.
She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. R. Bruce Jackson of Drakes Branch, Mrs. Louise McGirt of Lenora, N.C., two sons; John W. Broocks of Lynchburg, C.P. Broocks of Drakes Branch, two sisters; Mrs. L.S. Gregory of Roanoke; Mrs. E.L. Haskins of Lynchburg, one brother, W.V. Purcell of Drakes Branch and several grand children.
