BATES- Mrs. Nancy Cathern Bates age 87 of Brooks Blvd. Brewton, Alabama passed away Monday night in a Brewton, Alabama Nursing Facility after a brief illness. She was a native and long time resident of Pawpacket, Rhode Island, A former resident of Mobile, Alabama before moving to Brewton, Alabama in 1957. Mrs. Bates attended the Zion Hill Baptist Church. She was a Homemaker, and A former seamstress at Judy Bond and Shelltex.
Survivors: Husband of 60 years- O.C. Bates of Brewton, Alabama (2) Daughters- Sheila Fountain of Brewton, Alabama Cindy Huff of Brewton, Alabama (1) Sister- Irene Norstead of Rhode Island (3) Grandchildren- Jessica Fountain, Leah Herrington, Breann Huff
Visitation will be held Thurssday afternoon October 9, 2014 from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME BREWTON, ALABAMA. Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday afternoon October 9, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at WILLIAMS MEMORIAL CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Bryan Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery Brewton, Alabama
