Gloria A. (nee Prindle) Baxter, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest on Friday, November 26, 2010 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in Niagara Falls, NY, following a brief illness. Born on March 14, 1923 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Mary (Scott) Prindle.
Mrs. Baxter was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. Gloria attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1941. On January 27, 1943, she married Robert R. Baxter. From 1941-1946, Mrs. Baxter was employed by Carborundum. Later, from 1953, Gloria worked as a secretary at South Junior High School, until her retirement in 1983.
In addition to her beloved husband of sixty-eight years, Mrs. Baxter is survived by two sons, Mark R. (Suzanne) Baxter of Fairfax, VA and Donald N. (Peg) Baxter of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Gloria is also survived by one sister, Ruth E. Prindle of New York City and one niece, Gretchen Morgan of Lewiston, NY. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one son, Rick W. (Bonnie of Clarkston, MI) Baxter; one great-granddaughter, Meghan Baxter and one brother, Robert S. Prindle.
