Lelia Mae Price Godwin, 90, passed away Wednesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Mae was born in Wayne County, NC on July 31, 1925 to the late Alphonso Price and Gladys Ethel Metts Price. She was married to the late Jack Rudolph Godwin, Sr. For over 50 years, Mae worked as the office manager for O’Berry and Lewis Insurance Company in Goldsboro. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and the Goldsboro Order of the Eastern Star #54.

A service to celebrate Mae’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2016 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Seate and Rev. Rufus Butner officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mae is survived by her daughter, Nancy G. Parker and husband, Jerry of Pikeville; son, Jack Rudolph Godwin, Jr. and wife Patricia of New Bern and her sister, Geraldine P. Bryan and husband Bobby of Fayetteville. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristin Koekkoek and husband, Frank, Jack Ryan Parker and Kyle Bryce Parker and her great grandchildren, Carleigh Koekkoek, Kamdyn Koekkoek, Kyndall Koekkoek, Kailyn Koekkoek, Konner Koekkoek and Gavin Parker.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mae was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Price and sisters, Louise P. Butler, Ethel P. Montague, Clarissie P. Clark and Mildred P. Hendrix.
