She was a "Methodist in high standing and dearly loved" per the church Memory Book. Lucia worked well with children and excelled as a Sunday School teacher. She died at 45 after a 2 year bout with TB. The service was held on Easter Sunday from her home. She approach her death with great faith as she anticpated her "call home".

Died at her Painsesville home on St. Clair Street, but burned in Madison at her family plot.
