Ruth Barnhouse, 94, of Fourth St., Carrollton died February 18, 2008, in St. Joseph Care Center in Louisville. Born November 3, 1913, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Macy and Addie Dilley Preston. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Carrollton and the United Methodist Women's group of the church.
She is survived by two sons, John (Gennie) Moore of Petal, MS. and Daniel (Leila) Moore of Louisville; two daughters, Kay (Dean ) Wetzel of Scottsdale, AZ. and Judy Humphrey of Murphy, NC; two stepdaughters, Mary (Dean) McLaughlin of Ladylake, FL. and Carol (Bob) Sanford of Carrollton; 10 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; and a brother, John Preston of Mt. Vernon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Barnhouse in 1995; a step grandson, two brothers; and three sisters. Funeral services will be February 23 at 11 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home at Carrollton with Pastor Mark Statler officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton.
