PEORIA - Margaret Marie Burris, 81, of Youngsville, North Carolina, formerly of Peoria, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2009, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.
She was born April 20, 1927, in Burlington, Iowa, to Amos H. and Margaret B. Lloyd Powell. Margaret married Blaine E. Burris on January 24, 1947, in Peoria. He died January 12, 2004, in Peoria.
Also preceding her in death was one daughter, Sandra Burris Safford on April 19, 1995; four brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Tim (Becky) Burris of Youngsville, North Carolina, Jim (Peggy) Burris of Auburn, Illinois and Leland (Christy) Ioerger of Metamora, Illinois; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria. Rev. Curt Keller will officiate. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Shriners' Children Hospital or Alzheimer's Association.
